All-on-4 Implants:
ā
A Breakthrough in Restorative Dentistry
ā
The All-on-4 dental implant technique has revolutionized how dentists approach full-arch tooth replacement. One of its most significant advancements is the ability to offer immediate load implants, allowing patients to receive a full set of functional teeth on the same day as surgery. This approach not only improves patient comfort and confidence but also shortens the treatment timeline significantly.
Understanding All-on-4 Implants
The All-on-4 concept involves placing four strategically angled dental implants in the jaw to support a full-arch prosthesis. Unlike traditional implants, which often require six to eight implants per arch and several months of healing, the All-on-4 technique maximizes the use of available bone and provides excellent stability with fewer implants. Two implants are placed vertically in the front of the jaw, while the two in the back are angled to avoid anatomical structures such as the sinus cavities or nerve canals.
What Is Immediate Loading?
Immediate loading refers to attaching a temporary prosthesis to the implants on the same day they are placed, rather than waiting several months for osseointegration (the process of the bone fusing to the implants). In the All-on-4 context, this means patients walk out of surgery with a fixed, functional set of teeth, often referred to as “teeth in a day.”
For immediate loading to be successful, certain conditions must be met. Most importantly, the implants must achieve primary stability—a secure initial fit in the bone. The patient’s overall health, bone quality, and absence of infections also play key roles in determining eligibility.
Benefits of Immediate Load All-on-4 Implants
-
Faster Results: Patients receive teeth on the same day, eliminating the need for removable dentures or long healing periods without teeth.
-
Improved Quality of Life: Immediate restoration allows patients to eat, speak, and smile with confidence right after the procedure.
-
Reduced Bone Grafting Needs: The strategic implant placement often avoids the need for bone grafts, especially in cases of bone loss.
-
Shorter Treatment Time: With fewer implants and no delayed-loading phase, overall treatment time is significantly reduced.
-
Cost-Effective: Using four implants instead of six or eight lowers costs without compromising function or aesthetics.

All on 4 Immediate implants
Below is an x-ray of an actual patient of Dr. Alan, having just had the 4 immediate dental implants placed, after extractions and grafts. The implants are ready for the placement of the attachment of a temporary fixed prosthetic. Everything was completed in under a week, and the patient left with teeth fixed in her mouth.

Implant Supported Prosthetic
This is an example of a zirconia dental prosthetic that permanently screws into the dental implants, giving you stability and comfort. It is as close to real teeth as you can get. Unlike dentures, you do not have to remove the prosthetic every day to clean it. Using a water flosser, you can clean under the prosthetic, and come into a dentist every year or 6 months, to have a check-up and a cleaning.

Individual Teeth Replacement
Most patients only need a few teeth replaced, which can be achieved with individual implants or bridges. We will do an evaluation, and give you multiple options, and adjust according to your needs and budget. Our prices are 1/3 of what most US dentists charge, and you can save many thousands of dollars, making a trip to Tijuana well worth it.
